Canada-based ed-tech business ApplyBoard is all set to scale up its business in India. The Edtech start-up recently raised $300 million in a Series D fundraising round at a valuation of $3.2B.

ApplyBoard assists students who’re looking for international job opportunities or are interested in studying in an international university, it works by connecting international students, recruitment partners, and academic institutions on one platform. Since 2015, the company has established its presence in India, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States. It promotes personal and professional growth amongst the students. The round conducted by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, through its Teachers’ Innovation Platform boosted the confidence of the start-up to compete with the other ed-tech giants such as upgrade, Udemy, Vedanta, and many more others.

The GM of the company is also excited with the recent funding, recently in an interview, GM Karunn Kandoi, said: “This funding will allow us to take the further step to speed up the growth of its product and business in India”.Due to the lockdown restrictions, the company was unable to continue its operations to assist the students for study abroad and international job recruitments. With the expansion of the business, the company is aiming to enhance its brand visibility in India. In the past six years, ApplyBoard has helped over 200,000 students across the world in fulfilling their dream to study abroad and getting a job in foreign country and intend to extend the support in the coming years as well. With the introduction of the new platform “ApplyProof” to verify the international student’s documents, the company also helped the students to build trust amongst the admission officers and immigration officials.
