Amazon has reportedly incorporated the voice of India’s most popular celebrity, Amitabh Bachchan, to its voice assistant device “Alexa” in order to attract more customers to its service. It’s not the first time Amazon has included the voice of a renowned personality into Alexa; in Early 2019, the tech giant had also rolled out Samuel Jackson’s voice on its voice assistant platform Alexa across the United States.
By spending just $2 a year, consumers can listen to the voice of Bollywood’s living legend Amitabh Bacchan in their Alexa devices as well as the Amazon shopping app. However, by the second year, the price will either be risen to $4. Alexa users can simply listen to Amitabh Bacchan’s life experiences, motivating words, and lovely poems written by his father. Aside from that, Alexa users can also get the opportunity to listen up to the alarm clock, weather forecast, and so on in the patent style of Amitabh Bachchan.
The rumors of collaborating with a Bollywood icon have been floating around on the internet and news papers for almost a year, but the rising cases of Covid19 had pushed the plans on hold. Several individuals in India are consumers of Amazon and prefer to utilize its services and products, which is why the firm is constantly investing money to expand its footprint in the Indian market.
According to a report, the business has invested up to $6.5 billion in its Indian projects to date. The alliance between Amazon and Bachchan is not new. The web series “Gulabo Sitabo,” starring Amitabh Bacchan and Ayushmaan Khurana, was also purchased by Amazon for worldwide distribution.
“Amazon is continually developing in favor of the clients, and rolling out the Amitabh Bachchan’s voice with one of India’s most renowned personalities is a delight to our ears,” an Amazon spokesman stated in a statement. He further claimed, “we had focused on every aspect of voice technology including awakening term, voice detection, cognitive text-to-speech, etc to develop the world’s first bi-lingual celebrity speech,”.
