Byju’s is paving its way into the news headlines every now and then, with regards to its major acquisition moves. After a potential scenario of being in talks with Toppr, it has now acquired Scholr.

As per an anonymous source, the deal was finalised earlier this month at a worth of ₹15-20 crores.

Scholr is an edtech startup that serves as a solution to class 6 to 10 students in solving academic queries and is available on Android and iOS apps. Students upload the pictures of their queries to get instant solutions, based on the concerned subject. The company provides aid with homework tasks allotted to students of various boards. Alongside this, the app also offers support in academics via peers and experts associated with the platform.

Previously, Byju’s was in talks with Doubtnut but the deal failed due to disagreement over valuation. Although “Scholr fits the bill”, as an unnamed source states. Further details on Byju’s and Toppr’s supposed acquisition plans are also awaited.

The founders of the mumbai based company, Scholr are Himanshu Nimje, Manil Gupta, Aniket Singh and Piyush Agarwal, in 2015. However, Agarwal left Scholr in 2019 and Aniket Singh did the same in 2016. During the multiple seed rounds, Scholr raised $382 K with the help of investors namely Xseed Partners, Edupreneur Village Fund, IIT-H Seed Fund, 50K ventures and Zone Startups India.
