On the occasion of the 107th birth anniversary of India’s first female flyer, Sarla Thakral, Google created a unique doodle to celebrate the occasion. This doodle was created by Vrinda Jhaveri, a character designer. Sarla Thakral had been India’s first female flyer. In the year of 1914, Sarla Thakral was brought up in Delhi. Her spouse was also in a similar profession. Sarla Thakral took her first flight in a compact double-wing airplane when she was 21 years old.

She’d piloted the plane all by herself. Since that period Sarla Thakral is in the spotlight. Sarla Thakral acquired her pilot’s license after flying an airplane for 1000 hours at the Lahore Flying School. She was the very first lady to obtain a license to fly at around that timespan.

Following this, she began learning as a professional flyer but was forced to halt owing to the Second World War. Sarla Thakral pursued fine arts and painting at the National College of Arts in Lahore following earning her flying education. She then migrated to Delhi, where she was worked as a jewelry and apparel designer.

In addition to being a freedom warrior, she was also awarded the name of the doctor and became the first woman to co-found a women ‘s rights organization. Prior to acquiring the name of the doctor, Kadambini Ganguly earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 1883.

In 1884, she enrolled in the Medical College in Kolkata and graduated with a medical degree in 1886. Kadambini Ganguly then traveled to the United Kingdom to learn gynecology before returning to India and entering medical practice.
