Google takes down 95,680 Content from its platforms in July, Highest So Far

Google, the world’s largest search engine firm, has begun complying with the country’s new information technology legislation, which took effect on May 26 this year. Under these guidelines, Google stated in its Quarterly Transparency Report released on Tuesday that it got numerous user grievances in July and deleted around 95,680 content based on these grievances, the greatest number to date.

In July, Google removed 5,76,892 types of information due to automatic identification, in addition to user grievances. Google also received several complaints related to the infringement of intellectual property rights, defamation in June, and 83,613 content was deleted as a result. 71,132 posts were deleted in May, compared to 59,350 in April.

“When we got complaints regarding posts on our site, we thoroughly evaluate them,” Google said. It will have to be disclosed, together with the facts of the complaints and the actions done in response to them. The amount of significant communication links or forms of content that have been erased or blocked as a result of automated monitoring will also be included in the report.

According to Google’s report, ai-based monitoring led to the removal of 5,76,892 contents in July. This figure was 5,26,866 in June. The data used in the ai – powered monitoring procedure, according to the business, comprises information about the sender or creator of the content’s location in India.

Moreover, Facebook had also submitted it’s monthly compliance report yesterday in which it confirmed to filtered or masked photographs or videos on its platform that may be distressing to certain people with a caution.
