Microsoft is going to unveil the next version of Windows on June 24. The announcement comes following Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s hint at significant changes to the PC operating system for developers and creators emphasizing on the “next generation of Windows.”
Microsoft has began sending out invitations to the media for the Windows event, according to The Verge. Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, and Panos Panay, the company’s chief product officer, will be present. The launch event is set to begin at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT.
We might also get to see some major UI changes to Windows, under the codename ‘Sun Valley.’ Much of the cosmetic work has already begun, with new system icons, modifications to File Explorer, and the elimination of Windows 95-era icons.
Microsoft said last month that its dual-screen operating system, Windows 10X, would no longer be available for purchase. Instead, the aesthetic features of Windows 10X have been included into the ordinary edition of Windows 10.
Nadella has promised to unlock a better economy for developers and innovators within the Windows ecosystem.
