UPI, net banking, and others have infiltrated our lives in a way such that, we depend on it for all of our aspects. But, did we ever think that the technology we use could be the source of our loss? We are lending hands to those who are cheating us? Researchers uncovered a new Android Malware App, “VULTUR”.
What is Vultur?
It is a legitimate banking app in Google Play Store, use to do online transactions. Recently it was discovered to be Trojan-ware, capturing our passwords, hacking into our systems, and doing unwanted transfers. How does it act?JUST like other ones, Vultur begins its work by exploiting Android Accessibility Services; designed to customize user interactions.
IT appears to be a legitimate 2-factor authentication app; once downloaded, it hides its icon and monitors all requests that trigger the accessibility services. Further performs key-logging and preventing users from deletion.Is it more effective? VULTUR comes up with a special feature of screen recording, whenever we utilize it; it records our screen activity. Thus, capturing our payment records, bank details, UPI pin, and even our CVV. Using such details one can easily manipulate another person’s account for his benefit.
Even though Google is putting more money and effort into improving the scenario, and securing the store; but these fraudsters and hackers keep updating their tactics, they are always one step ahead of us.

It’s true, that in today’s life everything is the internet; But one must remember, the world of the internet brings along the risk. The daily transaction, rather hourly transactions are now the state, so one must be cautious enough, to not be indulged in such frauds.
