Apple’s latest watchOS beta seems to have revealed the company’s plans for brand new Apple Watch models. Just days after recognizing a possible iPhone 11 announcement date, iHelp BR has discovered references to new ceramic and titanium watch models in the latest watchOS 6 beta.
The Apple Watch Series 5 will be disclosed next month, MacRumors aforesaid Friday, citing a research note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The previous Apple Watch Series 4 was disclosed almost a year ago, with subsequent smartwatch also expected to be declared during Apple’s traditional September event, where the company launches its new swathe of iPhones.
According to MacRumors, Kuo also predicted that Korean tech giant LG will provide more OLED displays for future iPhones and aforesaid Chinese manufacturer BOE could get involved in supplying screens too.
The Apple Watch 5 is also rumored to come back with sleep tracking, a larger battery, and additional health features.
It’s rumored that the 2020 version of the smartwatch will go along with a MicroLED display.
Kuo had previously predicted that the Apple Watch can get a “new ceramic casing design,” MacRumors aforesaid on Friday.
The 2018 Apple Watch Series 4 came in 44mm and 40mm displays, quicker speeds than the Apple Watch 3, fall detection, electrocardiogram (ECG) and up to two days of battery life.
Apple didn’t instantly respond to a request for comment.
It’s not clear if these new Apple Watch models are going to be part of a bigger Series 5 launch, or just added to the existing Series 4 line-up. Apple is predicted to unveil its iPhone 11 line-up on September 10th, and these Apple Watch models can likely be part of that announcement.
