Apple appears to be nearing the release of the Apple Music Voice Plan, a lower-cost tier of Apple Music that allows you to access music using only your voice and the company’s Siri assistant. According to MacStories editor-in-chief Federico Viticci, the new plan was discovered in the update notes for the iOS 15.2 release candidate, implying that it will be publicly accessible shortly.
The Voice Plan was initially revealed by Apple at its October presentation, with the company stating that the new tier will be available in seventeen countries and regions “later this autumn.” The monthly fee will be $4.99.
Other iOS 15.2 betas have introduced a few new features that will almost certainly make it into the final release. One feature is the opportunity to name a Legacy Contact who will have access to your iCloud data if you die. Another innovation is the Communication Safety feature, which blurs nude photos for minors using the Messages app; however, unlike the version unveiled earlier this year, parents will not be informed if their child views an image. Users of the iPhone 13 Pro will be able to toggle macro mode on and off by pressing a button. In addition, anticipated enhancements to make DIY iPhone 13 screen repairs easier have shown in iOS 15.2 betas.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the iOS 15.2 release date or the Apple Music Voice Plan.
