Bengaluru based Fintech Unicorn Razorpay made an announcement on Friday of hiring 650 employees across various business, product and technology teams, over the course of the next 10 months. This measure aims at meeting the growing payment and banking needs of both medium and small enterprises as well as freelancers.
Out of a total of 650 positions, 350 is for the expansion of engineering and product teams, the rest aims at forming customer experience, marketing forces and sales forces.
At current, the company has about 1,300 employees out of which 550 people were hired last year. Thereby, the business saw a three times growth since the pandemic hit last year.
“Our hiring plans are driven by more investment in product development, customer experience and new additions to the existing product suite so that we cater to the ever-evolving payment and banking needs of SMEs & MSMEs,”- Chitbhanu Nagri, Senior Vice President, People Operations, Razorpay.
Nagri added further, “We are excited and looking forward to 650 more people joining us as we together work towards servicing the next 5 million businesses by 2020.”
Razorpay is powering payments beyond 5 million businesses, these include names like Swiggy, BookMyShow, Ola, Zomato, Cred, Facebook, Airtel and ICICI Prudential. It is set to be able to expand its current base to 10 million businesses and aims at increasing its total payments volume to $50 billion by the year 2022.
