This means that users will be able to refine their Google Photos search for images of a specific person by selecting whether they want to see favourites, animations, movies, screenshots, archived, motion photos, creations, videos, selfies or collages.
The filters do not appear to be tied to any particular version of Google Photos, implying that they are being tested on the server-side with some accounts.
As Android police reports, this would aid in searching for someone in Google Photos, you can always filter search results by typing the query into the Google Photos search box.
