New York City, Neiman Marcus said in a statement that the data of over 4 million customers became a victim of a data breach and got stolen from the customers’ accounts.

To be exact, 4.6 million customers got compromised during this data hack and has lead to the stealing of sensitive information such as username, password, primary account numbers, e-gift card numbers, etc.

According to the reports of Big News Network, “Approximately 3.1 million payment and virtual gift cards were affected, more than 85 percent of which are expired or invalid,” Neiman Marcus said in a statement. The company has contacted government authorities and now they are given the charge of investigating the whole hacking situation.

The firm’s CEO, Geoffroy van Raemdonck said in a statement that customers are the top priority at Neiman Marcus and the team is working hard to get some answers to the customers’ queries.

In the meantime, the company is working really hard on enhancing the data security systems to effectively safeguard the customers’ information in the future.
