Samsung is preparing to unveil its next premium flagship S22 series, which will include the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, and according to a recent report, the series will start at $800 in the United States.
According to GSMArena, the S21 FE’s US price will presumably be the same as its predecessor, $700, maintaining the minor $100 price difference between the FE and the new flagship model.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 is expected to sell 14 million units. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra are expected to sell 8 million and 11 million units, respectively, at the same time. For the first time in the region, the forthcoming Galaxy S22 series Indian edition would bypass the next-gen Exynos in favour of the Snapdragon SoC, according to GizmoChina.
The South Korean tech giant normally ships its flagship products with both a Snapdragon and its own Exynos CPU, with the latter being the version launched in India. The Galaxy S22 series, which is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, is also coming to India.
In terms of specs, the future series could include a new 10MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom capabilities, rather than a high-resolution sensor with inadequate optical zoom.
With the Galaxy S22/S22+ devices, Samsung intends to take a different approach. Instead of the hybrid zoom of the Galaxy S20/S21 era, the Galaxy S22 series smartphones will include a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
According to previous rumours, the Galaxy S22 Ultra would keep the twin 10MP telephoto camera configuration that debuted with the Galaxy S21 Ultra. A periscope lens with a 10x optical zoom will be one of the lenses available.
