Microsoft plans to release the first major update for Windows 11 later this year. The upgrade, codenamed “Sun Valley 2,” is believed to include a new Task Manager, as well as enhancements to the Start Menu and Taskbar.
Windows 11 version 22H2 will be the first update of the year, and it’ll be based on the current version of Windows 11. However, rather than an enablement package, it will be delivered as a full feature update. It won’t be a big update, but Microsoft has already announced that it will include a number of quality enhancements.
For example, under the recommendations area, you can expect a new feature that allows you to pin more apps or activities.
Some of the new features could be offered via ‘Windows Feature Experience Packs,’ a new way to update and improve the OS without requiring significant feature updates.
As previously stated, one of the major changes in Sun Valley 2 is the addition of a new Task Manager.
Task Manager will get a new look based on Fluent UI and WinUI as part of the big update. The existing information displays, such as Processes, Performance, Startup apps, Users, Details, and Services, will be retained.
