Google Home has come a long way since it debuted in 2016. The original speaker is now getting complimented by the Google Home Mini and the new Nest Home products, which was formerly known as Google Home Hub.
It was the first step in rebranding its smart home devices under the Google Nest name, and there was speculation that the original home speaker might also get included. Putting all the rumors to rest, Google confirmed to us that the Google Home is sticking to its original name. This simply means that the users have various smart speakers to work with, and the options go on increasing if smart displays made by JBL and LG are counted.
It is very easy to set up your Google Home speaker for the first time, to adding video and music accounts so that you can play your tunes and have a movie night at your house just by using your voice. Once you are done with the steps to set up Google Home, to add music to your home speaker, Google will give you the option to link your music streaming service so that Google Assistant can play songs on your account. In order to avoid ads that pop up every time, you would need either YouTube Music or Google Play Music. And if you subscribe, linking your account will skip the ads and allows you to access your playlist. You can also link Spotify or Pandora accounts to your Google Home Speaker.
Also, by logging into your Netflix, HBO Now, Starz and Viki accounts, you can stream videos onto your TV or smart display without even lifting your finger.
You don’t have to link your debit or credit card to your Google Home by any means, but if you do, a lot many tasks would get easier. You can shop on Google Express, order takeout or call Uber as well.
