The top video conferencing app of the year is preparing for an expansion to bring in additional features to email, messaging, and calendar services. There was a rise in its stock price this year by 500 percent due to the pandemic. It is gearing up for competing with rival IT giants like Microsoft and Google. It has begun its work on the “next generation” email platform and might start testing as early as next year. On the other hand, no such details have been known regarding the calendar app extension.
With the availability of vaccines, the response that Zoom got this year, might not be there in the next year. Bringing in an additional feature, however, is a good way to step up to maintain its position in the market in near future. In the third quarter of the year, the total revenue went as high as $777.2 million. “Drivers of total revenue during the third quarter of the fiscal year included acquiring new customers and expanding across existing customers,” as per Zoom. “We remain focused on the communication needs of our customers and communities as they navigate the current environment and adapt to a new world of work from anywhere using Zoom. We aspire to provide the most innovative, secure, reliable, and high-quality communications platform to help people connect, collaborate, build, and learn on Zoom,” Zoom founder and CEO, Eric Yuan.
