Airtel and the Tata Group joined hands to launch 5G equipment in India using indigenous technology. The service is expected to be built on the Make in India concept, which will help the company lower the cost of 5G deployment by utilizing OpenRAN technology. On Monday, Airtel made the announcement. Previously, Jio began testing their 5G technology in four telecom circles. In addition to this Reliance will also begin 5G trials in Hyderabad soon, and now Airtel has joined the race by teaming with the Tata Group to create their own 5G equipment.

Airtel sought the help of Ericsson in Delhi and Nokia’s technologies in Pune to accomplish this. As per sources, Airtel started a 5G trial in Gurugram last week, using the 3.5GHz spectrum. It is expected that Airtel customers in India will be able to take advantage of its 5G technology next year, thanks to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).”The tie-up with Tata Group will assist making India a hotspot for 5G and related technologies Gopal Vittal, MD and CEO for India and South Asia at Airtel, recently stated. Tata Group/TCS, on the other hand, is also delighted to collaborate with Bhartiya Airtel. In a recent interview, N Ganapathy Subramaniam from the Tata Group/TCS said, “We have enthused about 5G technology and are trying to establish a world-class networking device”
