Soon you are going to experience what it’s like to live in a magical world and leave your boring Muggle life, even if only through your smartphone. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite mobile game is now officially out in both the United States and the United Kingdom. It was earlier announced that the Harry Potter themed game would release on 21st January, that is today, but it arrived ahead of time on Thursday. It also got released in New Zealand and Australia. So, if you are in any of the mentioned regions, you can download the game on iOS devices (App Store), Android (Google Play), and Samsung devices (Samsung’s Galaxy store).
The mobile game was developed by the maker of Pokemon Go which is an AR-based game where players navigate the real world and collect things. As such, the game requires a stable internet connection, and many players have reported recurring issues throughout the day on Thursday itself.
The storyline of the game involves the descending of The Calamity on the Muggle world as magical creatures, much known as ‘Foundables’ in the game. You have to find the source of this Calamity and restore the safety to the Muggles through these chaotic Foundables.
While the players will find most of the Foundables all around, some are more likely to be found near certain types of places than others. Just like in Pokemon Go, how water Pokemon were more likely to be found near rivers. The players would also experience many of the iconic locations, one of which is the Ollivander’s Wand Shop from the Harry Potter series.
Though the game is free, players can spend money to buy Gold, which can then be used to buy in-game items like Dark Detectors, potions, Runestones, and many more.
