The body of a college student who was reportedly murdered by two Class 10 pupils was discovered by police on Sunday. According to the authorities, the accused enlisted the assistance of an Instagram friend to carry out the murder because the college student was reportedly extorting money from them by blackmailing them with private photos.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, Premkumar, a 20-year-old college student and the son of a daily wage labourer Ravichandran, was taken by a group near Redhills. Premkumar’s companion, who was riding with him on a two-wheeler, rushed back to Premkumar’s house and notified his parents.
The parents went to the Otteri police station in Vandalur and filed a complaint. The police were led to two Class 10 students, both girls, after a preliminary investigation.
They allegedly confessed during interrogation that Premkumar had befriended them at Vandalur and had been talking to them on the phone. He is accused of taking pornographic photos of the females and blackmailing them for money. He had been threatening the two females for about a year, according to the police, and had extorted nearly Rs 1.5 lakh from them.
The girls, who couldn’t take it any longer, befriended a boy, also a student, on Instagram and told him about their plight, according to the authorities. They stated that the guy instantly devised a strategy and instructed the females to get Premkumar to come to Redhills so they could give him some money.
Premkumar was contacted by the two pupils, and he arrived at Redhills as scheduled. According to the authorities, the Instagram friend abducted him with the help of a few other accomplices.
Premkumar was allegedly taken to Gummidipoondi and held captive in a room, where he was allegedly tortured. They then cut him to death in Echankatumedu village, where he was buried in a vacant plot of land.
The three suspects were apprehended by the police on Sunday, and the body was retrieved. His body has been sent for an autopsy.
