LG introduces first of a kind certified TV display that conforms to eye safety norms

LG Display is going to showcase first of a kind Eyesafe certified Television display during CES 2021. The tech event will witness the launch of this 65-inch OLED screen TV which fulfils the requirement of an optimal colour performance alongside achieving the leading standard of lower blue light emission levels. The product has received Germany’s TUV Rheinland certification entailing that it meets the safety standards for our eyes.

The product has been developed with such features by a combination of 250 leading ophthalmologists, engineers along with optometrists, responsible for conducting and analysing various clinical health and safety research based on the effects of blue light exposure.

LG Display Chief Technology Officer, Dr Soo Young Yoon expressed his contentment on the product’s approach, “We are so proud to be the first manufacturer to certify our TV displays as Eyesafe – The recognized leader in screen time safety, blue light mitigation, and optimal colour performance across consumer electronics.” He further added, “As an industry leader, we will continue to take proactive steps to provide additional value, such as eye comfort to consumers, as well as providing the best experience through our cutting-edge technology, including OLED.

LG Eyesafe conforms to lower levels of blue light exposure by giving a more natural colour experience as compared to what the software-only solutions have to offer, which noticeably impacts the colour presentation. The outcome is required to offer a low-blue light presentation without settling on shading execution.
