For the next three months, Amazon and EA will be giving away free PC games and content through Amazon’s Prime Gaming programme, so it may be time to revisit the gaming service if you’ve forgotten it’s included with Prime. This month, Prime members can obtain a free Origin code for the unexpectedly good remake of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit from 2010, and Amazon claims four more of EA’s “most popular titles” will be available in 2022. (though given the starting game, it may be worth keeping your expectations in check).
Amazon and EA will be giving out free PC games and content through Amazon’s Prime Gaming programme for the next three months, so it may be time to revisit the gaming service if you’ve forgotten it’s included with Prime. This month, Prime members may get a free Origin ticket for the shockingly superb Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit reboot from 2010, and Amazon promises four more of EA’s “most popular titles” will be available in 2022. (However, considering the nature of the opening game, it may be prudent to temper your expectations.)
You’ll also be able to receive a variety of additional free games through Prime Gaming, as is customary. Frostpunk, Journey to the Savage Planet, Football Manager 2021, and TellTale’s take on the classic Monkey Island series, Tales of Monkey Island, are all releasing in December and should be nice romps for whatever holiday holidays you have coming up. Morkredd, Spellcaster University, YouTubers Life, and Stubbs the Zombie from Rebel Without a Pulse are all included (what a name)
Amazon hasn’t announced what EA titles will be released next, but it’s worth keeping an eye out for. As much as the publisher is vilified (often for good cause), it does offer some quality products, and it’s difficult to complain about obtaining them for free. Personally, I’m hoping that the collection of remastered Command & Conquer games will be one of the future free releases so that I can receive a nice, big blast of nostalgia.
