Whatsapp and Telegram are two of the most popular free encrypted messaging programmes on the market today, and while the former has far more users, the latter has far more functionality. WhatsApp is renowned for adding features at a considerably slower rate than Telegram, a rival service for which Whatsapp is frequently mocked on social media. Telegram responded to WhatApp’s recent announcement of a new conversation transfer function on Twitter with a Jumanji GIF based on the film.
This isn’t the first time Telegram has publicly ridiculed WhatsApp on social media. Previously this year, the app overlaid a message from WhatsApp on top of a popular GIF of pallbearers dancing at a funeral while holding aloft a coffin, urging users to accept a new privacy policy that would share more data with Facebook. Over 2.76 lakh people liked the Telegram response, and over 7,600 people replied.
For a long time, Telegram has provided this service to its users.
The option to transfer chats from an iOS smartphone to an Android device was recently introduced to WhatsApp. Users have been asking for this functionality for years, but WhatsApp has been working on a safety mechanism to move data from one platform to another. In truth, at this time, WhatsApp does not enable moving chats from Android to iOS.
When WhatsApp announced the new conversation transfer functionality, Telegram’s Twitter account replied with a Jumanji GIF that read “What year is it?” — At the time of writing, the tweet has gotten over 12,400 likes and 520 responses.
It’s worth noting, though, that Telegram is a cloud-based messaging service, whereas WhatsApp saves your conversations on your phone. But Telegram was obviously mocking WhatsApp for introducing support for connecting talks across platforms, despite the fact that its own service has allowed users to view chats on different devices since its inception in 2013.
WhatsApp sends end-to-end encrypted communications to your phone before deleting them from the firm’s servers, according to the firm. Telegram on the other hand can deliver your conversations to all of your other devices when you are logged in since they have constant access to all of your communications.
