WhatsApp will soon surprise its users by adding a new feature to its messaging platform, it will soon launch a new feature called flash calls that will allow users to verify themselves via a WhatsApp call rather than having to submit a verification code sent via SMS.
Previously, to prove their identity, users had to submit a verification code into their Whatsapp account, which led to a lot of hassle for users because they had to wait for hours for the verification code to appear on their phone. That is why WhatsApp is now planning to launch this new feature to resolve this issue. However, if a user chooses to verify their identity using the Flash Call method, they must provide WhatsApp permission to initiate and manage calls, as well as access their call history, which is one of the major drawbacks of this feature.

Although if you don’t want WhatsApp to have access to your call history, you can opt to receive (OTP) through SMS instead. The news is revealed by WABetaInfo, perhaps the feature is still under development, so users will have to wait till it is released to learn more about it. The Flash Calls function is not new to Messenger users, as Truecaller already uses it to automatically verify users’ accounts without requiring them to manually enter the code.
