Facebook India has started an initiative to provide students from prestigious law colleges with a platform to research on technology law and policy. Facebook India recently collaborated with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, a well-known law firm, who will be responsible for sharing their expertise and resources with the students.

Eight law students from prominent law schools will be given the chance to embark on a research project with prominent research institutions and mentors. Facebook aims to use this effort to give a platform to aspiring tech law and policy enthusiasts who want to learn more about these subjects but don’t have enough resources or a platform to do so.
Only fourth and fifth-year law students from prestigious law schools such as the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru, the WB National University of Juridical Sciences in Kolkata, the National Law University in Delhi, and the National Law University in Jodhpur will be able to participate in this Facebook-led initiative. In a statement, the Facebook spokesperson said, “Following rapid innovations in technology and the rise of technology law and policy within India, the initiative is aimed to inspire learners to establish an independent viewpoint on critical topics that will influence future policy debates throughout this field.”
