In India, 5G networks have yet to be deployed. The government, on the other hand, has already begun to focus on 6G. The national government has put in a lot of effort to prepare for 6G technology.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has established a technical innovation group to work on 6G technology, as per an article in the Economic Times. As chairperson, Telecom Secretary K Rajaraman will oversee the technological innovation group.
This conference will focus on developing the vision and goals for 6G technology. In addition, a plan for 6G technology research and development will be developed. Pre-standardisation, applications, and product development for 6G will also be discussed by the group.
Huawei, Samsung, and LG have already begun developing 6G networks. As per the department’s paper dated November 1, “India should aim to be a leader in the 6G arena.” The authorities, business, and telecom service providers will need to work together to achieve this.
This technology innovation group consists of 22 people. But even so, the department has given the telecom secretary the authority to expand the panel as needed.
