Reportedly, an Ohio-based company that deals with DNA testing, suffered a data breach. The attackers got their hands on more than 2.1 million customers’ data. The firm, called DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC) disclosed that the hacking incident affected 2102436 customers.

The incident resulted in a confirmed data breach that occurred between May 24, 2021, and July 28, 2021, and the firm concluded its internal investigation on October 29, 2021.

The information that got leaked includes the following details which are the Full names of the customers, Credit Card Number + CVV, Debit Card Number + CVV, Financial Account Number, Platform Account Number.

Most of the compromised database included the backed-up data from 2004 and 2012 and has been inactive for a few years. The impacted database was associated with a national genetic testing organization that DDC has never used in its operations and has not been active since 2012. The firm says that the affected customers will get a notification from the firm and will get one year of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Experian.
