According to the Taiwanese officials, the Taiwan government faces a whooping number of five million cyberattacks daily. The officials said this statement after thorough research and came up with a report for the government.

Wion news states that Taiwanese officials have said earlier that the island faces millions of cyber attacks every month. It is also said that half of the attacks have been initiated by China.

“We are strengthening the government’s defensive measures and collecting relevant data for analysis in a bid to stop the attacks when they are initiated,” Chien told lawmakers.

Taiwan thinks that China is doing these attacks deliberately because of the internal brawl between China and Taiwan. Taiwan thinks that China is doing this because of the 2016 incident when Tsai Ing-wen became the president. Tsai Ing-wen considers Taiwan as an independent state.

Taiwan’s ministry information protection center stated that around 1.4 billion vulnerabilities have been found from 2019 to August 2021 which includes cybercrimes such as hacking, breaching, and ransomware.

Last year, Taiwanese authorities said Chinese hackers infiltrated at least 10 Taiwan government agencies and gained access to around 6,000 email accounts in an attempt to steal data.
