Over 600 Chinese companies have been banned by the tech-giant

Have you noticed that certain well-known tech accessory brands are no longer available on Amazon? Well, these aren’t just rare incidents, it’s true. Amazon has confirmed the news in the South China Morning Post that over its popular platform, it has shut down around 3,000 online merchant accounts backed by approximately 600 Chinese companies. According to Amazon, these companies violated review regulations prohibiting paid reviews on a regular basis.

In an interview with Vice President Cindy Tai on the state-run network China Central Television, the online store revealed the statistic for the first time. It had previously kept a low profile when it came to the larger endeavor.

The crackdown began in earnest five months before Amazon banned Aukey and Mpow, bringing it to broader attention. Customers posting evaluations were rewarded with gift vouchers, which the vendors were discovered giving. RAVPower, Vava, and other well-known firms were eventually banned from Amazon for similar conduct. The number of non-Chinese brands that have been banned is unknown.

There are indications that certain companies are either avoiding prohibitions or have evaded discovery, such as Aukey’s Key Series earphones. However, it’s reasonable to conclude that Amazon’s anti-fraud policy has had a substantial impact on the marketplace, much to the dismay of blacklisted businesses who rely largely on Amazon sales.
