Reportedly, some hackers got access to the digital driving license platform of South Australia, and the government is constantly urging the users to change their driver license numbers as it has been presumed that the hackers were able to steal the passwords and other important information from the platform.
The South Australian government says it has taken immediate steps to secure affected accounts on the mySA GOV platform, which includes a website and an app.

Sources suggest that the app also includes the data relating to Covid-19 checking. The relief comes in the fact that the data which was entered without logging in to the server was not breached.
The department said 2,601 mySA GOV accounts were accessed in the attack, 2,008 of which contained registration and licensing information.
The government said there is “no evidence” of any unauthorized transactions on any mySA GOV accounts, but it had taken several steps to mitigate the risk, which includes
- Blocking the vulnerable accounts
- Intimating the affected customers about the breach
- Telling customers how to change the passwords of their accounts
- Encouraging affected customers to change their driver’s license by attending a Service SA Centre
The government has also suggested to the people that the new password to be kept should be a complex and strong password that doesn’t get breached easily.
