Weappy Studio and publisher THQ Nordic recently declared Rebel Cops, a game about turn-based stealth tactics that are all set in a universe of This Is the Police, an adventure strategy series from the same developer.
In addition to declaring the game for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch, the pair also told that the games would be launched pretty soon. More specifically, the game will arrive on September 17, delivering up to 15 hours of challenging gameplay for just $10. “Rebel Cops is a turn-based tactics stealth game set in the This Is the Police universe,” read an official elevator pitch of the game. “In Rebel Cops, gamers can control a squad of ex-police officers united by a passion to take down their town’s new criminal overlord. The spin-off will aim at turn-based stealth gameplay, with unforgiving combat and wide levels to explore.
Reportedly, Rebel Cops will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch when it releases 11 days from now. Below, one can read more about it, courtesy of an official rundown of its key features:
- Fight the corrupt authority: After Viktor Zuev, the criminal mastermind took over the town of Ripton, a user, and his fellow police officers go rogue to do what must be done. They perform tactical turn-based missions to undermine Zuev’s allies and bring the power back to the people.
- No hit points, no forgiveness: A gamer is outmanned and outgunned. Stealth tactics must be used and covered to deal with the enemy quietly and take them down before they can raise any alarms. Health bars are absent in Rebel Cops! Once shot, the gamer’s officers will bleed out unless he acts fast to save them.
- Explore, loot, and watch your back: Rebel Cops features a great number of scenarios, from compact operations to huge, open-ended locations to explore. Gamers should build up street cred in Ripton by helping out local folks in side missions and get rewarded for exploring the levels thoroughly.
- Lead the high moral road, or not: Justice must be served, however, it’s up to the player to choose how that happens. Will you play by Zuev’s merciless rules? Will you serve the needy townspeople, even if that means putting your operation at risk? In Rebel Cops, your reputation will affect your team’s morale and even the merchants’ prices.
