Soon a new feature will be out on Spotify that will allow users to restrict others on the app with ease. Those who wanted to ban individuals on Spotify previously had to contact customer service, but now the new Spotify function allows users to do so immediately.
“At Spotify, we’re committed to delivering the best possible listening experience to our users. Privacy is something that is and always will be enormously important to us and our block feature, which gives users more control, is the latest step towards that commitment.” a spokesperson from Spotify wrote in an email to The Verge.
Let’s know how to block a user on Spotify-
- Switch over to the Spotify profile to restrict a Spotify user.
- Above a user’s public playlists, click or press the three-dot menu.
- If you’re on a mobile device, choose “block” or “block user.”
“At Spotify, we’re committed to delivering the best possible listening experience to our users,” a company spokesperson said in an email to The Verge. “Privacy is something that is, and always will be, enormously important to us and our block feature, which gives users more control, is the latest step towards that commitment.”
A person who has been blocked will be unable to see your page, public playlists, or listening activities. Spotify also makes it simple to unblock a user who has been blocked previously. In 2019, Spotify allowed users to block artists, however, the “block user” option has been desired for a long time.
The addition of a function that allows users to instantly block others is part of Spotify’s objective to provide the greatest experience while listening to music or podcasts, according to the company. This week, Spotify’s new block option will be available to all users.
