Many people struggled to be tested for Covid-19 during the second wave. There were instances and situations when, even if afflicted persons were able to get tested, their findings would arrive days after their symptoms had deteriorated. The lockdown, precautions, and long hours waiting at the hospital centers made it even more difficult to get tested.

Coviself, a self-testing kit for Covid-19 antigen that provides results in 15 minutes, Flipkart is providing the kit on its platform. Coviself is approved for non-prescription home usage using self-collected nose samples, according to the product description. The test costs Rs 250 and can be used by persons aged 18 and above or by an adult for those aged 2 to 18. To register and submit results, the tests must be completed using the CoviSelf App. The antigen kit comes with a shelf life of 24-months also containing a test card, a safe swab, disposal bag,  prefill extraction tube, and user instructions.

Users must first register for the kit on the app before taking a sample using the swab. The sample will be placed in the tube, the swab will be broken, and the nozzle cap will be closed in the next stages. Users should then apply two drops and wait 15 minutes for the results to appear. The equipment must then be disposed of away in a disposable bag. Customers may also find instructions for using the kit at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wVppYNJLN4.

The product has a two-kit minimum order quantity. Users who purchase more than five Covishield kits can save up to 10%. If consumers buy three or four kits, they will receive a 5% or 7% discount, respectively. It also offers a 5% unlimited cashback on Flipkart Axis bank credit cards, as well as provides a 20% discount on IndusInd Bank, Amex network cards from ICICI Bank, SBI Cards, and Mobikwik.

The user’s personal information would be shared with MyLab, ICMR, or third parties as per regulatory regulations, according to Flipkart. It is also noted that the user may get a call from MyLabs, ICMR, or any agency, or any independent authority regarding the test results or for any information on the tests.

Flipkart further states that it will not be held liable for the accuracy of test findings, product performance, or product after-sales service.
