Data of 21K Indian students on sale on the dark web

According to a report of sensitive data of over 21,000+ Indian students were put on sale. The data included their Aadhar cards, university IDs, photo, and full signature according to Cyble. The breach is attributed to a financial technology company.

Cyble claimed that there have been several breaches where data of users have been compromised recently. As the company saw the keyword “signature” which prompted Cyble to investigate further.

Cyble wrote in a blog that ,”Some of the other information included in the leak were – name, phone, email, Aadhar Number, Date of Birth, Gender, Full Address, College, Course, Graduation Date, Friend’s name, Friends’ number,” the company wrote in a blog.”

Cyber experts have frequently said that Indian Tech companies are under continuous radar of hackers because of less investment in security features by the company.  They added that the hackers took advantage of a vulnerability in the Cloud storage where the financial technology company stored user data.
